In some cases, drivers can show they are fit to drive by completing a declaration instead of having a medical assessment.
Last updated: 23 September 2020The declaration form is sent approximately three months before your licence expires. Complete and sign the form, then send it back to the Department of Transport using the pre-paid reply envelope.
Once received, the department makes a decision about your fitness to hold a driver's licence and will advise you of the outcome.
